Door Stop
Overview
My cat once locked herself in the bathroom by nudging the door closed. Traditional doorstops become toys or require permanent mounting. I designed a door stop that fits on the upper corner of the door, acting as a bumper to keep the door ajar without damaging the frame or becoming a cat toy.
Analysis & Design
The final design is a three-part assembly: a rigid plastic core for structure and two flexible TPU outer parts to grip the door and prevent damage. This hybrid approach solved the issues of my earlier prototypes, which were either too rigid (causing damage) or too loose.

Results
The non-permanent door stop securely fits the door, clears the existing bumpers, and allows the cat to safely enter or exit.
